New Furniture Line Coming Summer 2010

The extensive Elliott Bay Collection consisting of casual and comfort seating, benches, stools and dining in six different designs that are Arts and Crafts based is nearly complete. Though I plan on eventually adding two more designs to the collection, I've started working on adding an entirely new furniture line. This line has nothing in common either architecturally or design wise with the existing collection. Its brand new. Unlike the existing collection this new line of furniture will be focused on a classic contemporary theme. Like the existing collection there will be multiple design choices with comfort seating, tables, benches, etc. No adirondacks in the new collection. I have something different in mind in terms of casual seating. There's some brand new ideas not seen before in outdoor furniture that I've been thinking about for several years that I think you'll find quite interesting. Think modern. Think contemporary. But, think, classic, too. Still it will be very, very comfortable. I've built several prototypes working out the details. Final versions, in a few weeks. Stay tuned!

2010 Show Schedule

Historic Seattle Bungalow Fair September 25-26, 2010
Pasadena Heritage Craftsman Weekend October 15-17, 2010
Bainbridge Island Studio Tour December 3-5 2010 Bainbridge Island is so close by, I thought I'd give it try. This show features some of the top Northwest artists and crafts people. Great opportunity to see a wide range of work. Yes. I'll have my outdoor furniture there, but I'll also bring along a few things that would make great Christmas gifts, too. Stop by and say hi.

The Blacker 8’ Bench Due to it’s size and weight, the bench is certainly one of the most difficult to make pieces in the collection. But, it’s a lot of fun to make, too. Loaded with detail and lots of pillowed plugs, the bench is very complex but quite true to its Greene and Greene theme. Despite its dimensions it’s low back keeps the bench from being intimidating. It’s also available in 6’ lengths and we just completed two 8’ special versions for a client that include covered storage underneath the seat with removable panels that are held in place by powerful magnets.

Introducing Modular Dining Tables We already make tables to seat 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 people in various forms. But, when you need to seat a lot of people one table just gets to get way too long and isn't very practical. So, it seemed like the best solution was to go modular. The photo of the Robinson 48" modular table is of one of two designs in two sizes available. We just completed four of these for the Greene and Greene ultimate bungalow, the Robinson House. When these are brought together you can seat as many as 18 people. Of course, the tables can be used individually to seat 4, 8 or 12. Also, we completed a large set of special 42" Blackler Modular Tables for the Blacker House in Pasadena. More pictures and more information will be posted soon.
